Electronic devices sick with the owner!
I woke up at 6:30 PM and took out my laptop with me and charged it. When i turned it on, I got the error 'system configuration data write error' message and was asking me to choose F1 to resume or F2 to Start-up Options.
I pressed F2 and nothing happens. I pressed F1 and all it did was emit a beeping sound and then gave me two options again: F2 to start-up or F12 to go to multiboot options i think. But nothing happens when I press the two keys.
I was worried but kept my calm. I tried F8 (sytem recovery of my Toshiba laptop) but nothing happens too. I looked for my old laptop (Toshiba too) recovery disk and tried it but it did not help too. I have tried all the options I could think of, but it was still not booting up.
Sharie then told me that if i will reformat my computer all my files would be lost. OMMMGGGG That got me so panicked because all those pictures, videos, downloaded shows, all my EBOOKS....will all be erased! Huhuhuhu! So I asked Sharie to search about solution in the web.
One site said that it was hardware failure (though I could not think how it could be a hardware failure when my laptop went dead because the battery was used up while i was asleep for more than 3 hours). I should have it fixed. She also read that one option was to let the computer 'rest' for several hours and even overnight, as one of the posters in the site she found said.
I did just that in the meantime, and was hoping, wishing, praying and keeping my fingers crossed that my laptop just needed some rest. Otherwise, i would go crazy if all my files would be deleted!
As i think about it, my electronics are sick too just like their owner. LOL Ever since my cell phone had its suicide attempt, I could not send text messages anymore. And now, my laptop was suffering from overfatigue it seems. LOL
SIGH. i really wish that tomorrow my laptop would already be restored.

New BOOKS!

Last night, Sharie and I went out to pay our TFC subscription and then went to the nearby mall for dinner. We felt so full afterwards and we decided to pass by Virgin Megastore and looked at the gadgets and cds and dvds and of course, books!
We found three books we were looking for and bought them instantly without second thoughts. :D Buying books is one of our splurges after all. LOL
1) Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. We have this in ebook, but it's hard to read ebooks most of the time, even with handheld device (pocket pc). Books are still better, IMO. We need to be prepared for the movie, thus we picked this up.
2) Shadow Dance by Julie Garwood. Also have this book in electronic format. But I havent read this yet. This is book....book...forgot already which number is this in the Buchanan series. :D Julie Garwood is still in our auto-buy list, despite our disappointment with her contemporary writings. :D
3) The Tales of Beedle the Bard by JK Rowling. Been looking for this book after reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and I perked up when I saw it last night.
When the cashier handed the bag to Sharie, we immediately left without checking the contents. While in the taxi, I reached into the bag and took out Tales of Beedle the Bard to read the blurb at the back. The moment we arrived home, I reached into the bag and exclaimed in surprise when I took out a different book. (see below)

Then I upended the plastic bag...and saw the three books we really bought. Sharie and I were so puzzled by the one book until we saw there was no price tag in the book. We just concluded then that the book must have been given for free.

Fit 'n Right

Yay! Fit 'n Right here in Kuwait!
Last night, after hearing mass, Sharie and I went to the Sultan Center (one of the supermarkets here) to do some grocery shopping and we were ecstatic to see Fit 'n Right there! We've been scouring Filipino stores here since we came from vacation last year, looking for just this product and we've been unsuccessful until last night.
While we were paying for our groceries, one Arab woman asked Sharie about Fit 'n Right. And the woman said she would give it a try and bought one of each flavor. :D

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

I've finished reading Twilight yesterday at last. We've bought this book (along with the other 3 books of the series) months ago, and I immediately started reading the book back then. But the first several pages had not captured my interest at all that I had to stop reading it.
So Sharie took over reading the book and told me that it started so slow indeed but had become interesting midway through. She has already finished reading all four books back then while I still did not pick up Twilight again until last last Friday. It was a little surprising because most of the time, I'm always the first one to read any books we buy or books given to us. :D
I remembered reading comments about Twilight before, some saying that Harry Potter and JK Rowling should move over because Twilight has arrived. This got me curious because even though I'm a very late Harry Potter books fanatic (started reading only book 6, then I backread book 1 -5 to understand what happened in book 6 and had been rereading the HP series every six months I think LOL), I had become a very avid and absorbed HP fan. So I thought it would be as interesting and captivating as HP first book. But sadly for me, it was not the case.
It took me more than a week to finish Twilight because the first half of the book had often lulled me to sleep that I ended up hugging it till I wake up. LOL It only became interesting to me when they played baseball during a thunderstorm.
I think one of the reasons why Twilight was not the captivating to me is because I've been reading a lot of book about vampires for ages. LOL The spookiest I've read was Salem's Lot by Stephen King.
Then the first ever vampire series that I came to love was Linda Lael Miller's Forever series. There are a lot of interesting info in this series like vampires are afraid of Gideon's wrath that they try not to anger him. The vampires also drink blood here. :D
Then there's JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series. This is more of a paranormal (and steamy LOL) I think but this is also interesting. Ack, I need to reread the books to refresh me of some original vampire characteristics that were introduced in this series.
There's also Christine Feehan's Carpathians or Dark Series, about an extinct powerful and ancient human race that feed on human blood to live (but they do not kill them). One of the most original idea in this book was their need to find their 'lifemate' before they lose their ability to kill and see color. Once they've lost these two abilities, they would be left with only one feeling - the thrill to kill. BTW, this series is steamy too. LOL
And then there's Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. Dark Hunters are not vampires but warriors created by Artemis to fight the Daimons (who have vampire characteristics). The history of how these creatures came into existence was so 'original' that I got so hooked on this series too.
So I guess, with all those books and vampire series that I have read and followed, reading Twilight was a little 'tame' for me. LOL The only new vampire characteristic I've read in Twilight was their ability to sparkle in the sun - the main reason why they shy away from sunlight. Oh, and vampires dont sleep - it's new to me too. :D Coz in Christine Feehan's Carpathians and the Dark Hunters needed sleep to recover their strenght or recuperate from injury.
Regarding the romance aspect in Twilight, hhmmm......hhmm........can i get back to this after reading the whole Twilight series? LOL
Waa this is already too long...:D Phew...blogs are finished...now time to tackle my FFs :D

All for Love
My insides were being twisted like wet clothes wrung to get the water out. My heart was pounding so hard my chest felt like exploding. I can hear its erratic beat, the banging sound so loud in my ears, making me almost deaf to all the sound around me.
I can feel my palms getting wet just at the thought of doing it. Is it worth the effort? Could I really do it? I could hardly sit still, unsure of how to proceed. I know what's waiting for me when I do it. The half, rational and sane part of me was telling me not to do it. But the insane, masochist and determined half of me was saying 'Go, go go!'
What should I do? Should I give in and subject myself to more fear, anxiety, agitation, annoyance, vexation and anger and then just appease myself with the little good things there? Or should I stop pushing myself on the verge of nervous breakdown and just forget about its existence?
I will. I will not. I will. I will not. I debate with myself for a few seconds and then found myself reaching for my mouse and then opening the TD thread again. With a deep breath I brace myself, and there I am again reading all the things that were posted except for some few bashers whose posts I skip.
My heart would clench reading the accusations, critics, comments, opinions, reactions, thoughts, suggestions and praises. Some posts make me laugh, some posts make my heart swell with pride but there are posts that make my blood reach boiling point. But I could not stop myself at all. I just have to come back each day, subject myself to the turbulent emotions and argue with others if necessary – all for the love of KG.

My phone's suicide attempt
Normally, my cell phone just stay in my bag when I get home from work and would only be taken out when I'm about to lie down on the bed. That's only the time I charge it and I sleep with it because it also serves as my second alarm clock.
However, last night, I called the convenience store near our place after I arrived home and ordered eggs and cheese (for dinner) and I put it on the dining table afterwards. And it was just sitting there until around 11 PM, when Tina and I were chatting and she gave me her cell phone number.
I took it from the dining table to edit Tina's number and was surprised when I touched it. It was unusually cold. I opened it (since it was a flip phone) and the keypad and screen was wet! I pressed a key, and all it did was gave me an option to choose 'demo' so I can view the phone's demo LOL
I put if off and took out the back cover, and OMGGGG the SIM card and battery were swimming in water!! I didnt know if there was water on the dining table when I placed it there earlier or not! But OMG my phone was thoroughly drenched in water!!!
I dried them off with a tissue and put it back on, and it worked ok until i charged it. It asked me to choose 'demo' again, the only thing my phone could do if it has no SIM card. I had to leave the battery, the SIM and memory card in the open to dry a little and just put them back together when I woke up this morning.
I only relied on my actual alarm clock, which didnt have a snooze option, thus I was forced to wake up 10 minutes earlier than usual LOOL!
My phone must have attempted to 'kill' itself in heartache because I have been saying and thinking of replacing it. LOL!

Love You Anyway
And I was ecstatic to find out that the song was Love You Anyway and sang by none other than Boyzone, one of my all-time fave boy bands. LOL
Ever since I heard it, I was attacked by LSS - Last Song Syndrome. So what I did when I came home was search for it on youtube and played the song over and over again for an hour or so. :D
Boyzone is back, yehey! Lori, Ate C and Mai and even Claire has told me of their come back some time ago but it slipped from my mind...until today. :D

The bad and good days being a writer
Being a writer was not easy. Now that i know too well how hard it is, I deeply appreciate all their hard work coming up with a book that would take me to places and introduce me to characters I adore.
I have taken writing seriously for only four months since I started in October only. And in four months time, I have learned that being a writer has its good days and bad days.
Today, I am having one of those bad days. I am struggling with words; struggling with ideas on how to show my story; struggling how to contruct my sentenses and string them together to convey the thought, emotions, scenarious, mood and characters I wanted my readers to see and to feel and to know.
Ahhhhh!!!! Bad days often make me want to put my pen down, throw all the paper and notes and notebooks away and just get up and leave and not write another word. It was a bad day when I read over my work and I cringe because they were all so lousy and badly-written; they're ridiculous. In short, i think all that I've written sucks.
And a bad day would definitely not turn into a good day when I read the works of other FF writers and their stories were good, well-written and well-thought of.
WAAAAAA i dont know what's happening to me today but i am EG right now. In short, my insecurities struck again. I was never known for my confidence in writing - I dont know why. Though I love writing.
I hope my melancholic mood shall come to pass.
