It has been nine years since we celebrate Christmas here in Kuwait. The first five years were okay because we used to go to our aunt during Christmas. But the last four years had been totally forgettable.
Three Christmas ago, Sharie and I spent Christmas alone because our friends backed out of our Christmas plan at the last possible minute. Then we did not receive any greeting from our family back then. It was our worst Christmas ever.
This year was the second worst. Sharie and I had planned of cooking several dishes for the four of us in our apartment. However, we learned that one of our flatmate was going out with her badminton friends and Sharie cut our menu. We cooked only pancit and baked chicken and bought ham from our friend whose husband was an American and had access to real pork ham.
At around 10 PM, we were already hungry because we havent eaten dinner yet so we ate our food for Noche Buena, together with our other flatmate. By 11:30 Sharie was already asleep so I just chose to plot some KG fanfics.
On the 25th, we did nothing but sat in front of the TV and watch TFC. Then on the 26th, we spent the day baking cookings and making Christmas goodies which we will give to our friends. We thought of not buying gifts for our friends/flatmate because I was feeling selfish this year and wanted to save. I decided to just buy gifts for our godchildren.
But the other day, when we went out, I finally cannot resist. The reason I love Christmas was shopping for gifts and wrapping them for friends and family. So we bought something for them after all.
